The Bachelorette: Rachel got her ring [Spoiler Alert]

Rachel got what she wanted. She got her ring and is now engaged to Bryan. This one was not a shocker. I think everyone knew she was going to end up with him.

The only shocker in the finale was the goodbye to Eric. I thought the final two would be Eric and Bryan. I was wrong. She kept Peter, even though they had countless conversations about how he wasn’t ready to propose. I respect him for sticking to his decision.

Because she kept him around, their last date wasn’t pleasant. It was more of the same. Rachel harped on how she went on the show for a ring and Peter told her again that he wasn’t ready. Eventually, she gave Peter what I consider to be an ultimatum — either he proposes or she walks — which is not a great way to start what is supposed to be the rest of their lives together.

Even though they both cried, said I love you, and didn’t want to say goodbye, they did. Peter didn’t make it to the rose ceremony.

To me, this means Bryan won by default. If Peter had been ready to propose, I question whether she would have picked Bryan.

So yes, Rachel got her ring, but for how long? A ring is only a piece of jewelry. It’s not a commitment. I can’t help but feel that she chose a ring over love.

What do you think of Rachel’s choice?

The Bachelorette: Why is Rachel pushing for a ring?

After the last couple of episodes of The Bachelorette, I’m frustrated with Rachel. She keeps saying she went on there to get a ring. She wants to be engaged by the end of the show.

I don’t understand why she’s pushing so hard for an engagement. Some people are able to fall in love during the show (e.g., Trista and Ryan) and some aren’t. In some cases, it might take time beyond the show and, in my opinion, that’s realistic. It’s not until after the show that they really get to know each other.

All of this leads me to the issue Rachel has with Peter. He’s not ready to propose to her. Because he’s not willing to propose, I have a feeling she’s going to be saying bye to Peter next. I think it’s unfair to Peter if she really feels something for him, but I don’t think she does. If she did, I don’t think the proposal or lack thereof would be that big a deal. Dating after the show wouldn’t be an issue.

Will Rachel be engaged at the end of the show? Yes, despite all of the second guessing and tears, I have no doubt that she will be engaged, but it won’t be to Peter. I still say she’s going to choose Bryan and I’m not convinced he’s the right choice. As I said in my previous post, The Bachelorette: Who should Rachel choose?, Rachel shouldn’t choose any of them.

Do you think Rachel will get engaged?

The Bachelorette: Who should Rachel choose?

This season of The Bachelorette has been entertaining with the guys all competing for Rachel. There have been lots of tears and lots of fighting. Rachel has done a good job getting rid of the guys who were there just to make trouble. Lee made for interesting viewing, but I’m glad she finally saw through him on the two-on-one date.

There are now only six guys left. From the beginning, she’s had her eye on Bryan. Will she pick him? I think so, but frankly I don’t think she should pick any of them. The guys this season seem fake, more so than usual. They are all trying way too hard and, when they talk to her, I often feel like they are telling her what she wants to hear. Not one of them has seemed sincere.

Taking Lee out of the equation, the guys have still been out to get each other. They argue and constantly question whether someone is on the show for the right reason. It makes me question whether any of them are there for the right reason. To me, it seems as though The Bachelorette has brought out their competitive streaks and all they care about is winning the game.

I don’t see a Trista and Ryan or a Kaitlyn and Shawn romance happening this season.

Who do you think she should pick?

Brenda Bartolomeo is back with her views on The Bachelorette

This week, Brenda Bartolomeo from Betting Brenda is back to discuss The Bachelorette.

JB: Brenda, I’m glad you could join us again.

Brenda: Thanks for having me. You know how much I enjoy talking about The Bachelorette.

JB: It’s been a long time since you’ve joined us.

Brenda: I’ve been busy with the new restaurant in Las Vegas.

JB: That’s great. Is it open?

Brenda: It’s been open for about a month. It took a little longer than expected to plan it all out.

JB: I’m glad it’s all worked out for you.

Brenda: Thank you. I’m sure it will all work out for Kaitlyn too.

JB: What do you think of the remaining guys?

Brenda: There are only two that stand out to me — Jared and Shawn.

JB: What do you think of Nick?

Brenda: I don’t like him. Frankly, I’m not sure what Kaitlyn was thinking when she allowed him to stay and then spent the night with him. After what he did to Andi on national TV, I wouldn’t trust him.

JB: What are your thoughts on the dates so far?

Brenda: Kaitlyn has made this season so much fun. The boxing and sumo wrestling dates were great. But the rap battle and mariachi singing are my favorite dates. The guys have been great sports.

JB: If you had to pick one guy for Kaitlyn, who would it be?

Brenda: Shawn. He’s hot, of course, but he seems to love her. I don’t think the other guys have fallen for her like he has.

JB: Well, after the video Kaitlyn posted a couple of weeks ago, it appears she agrees with you.

Brenda: Yes, and I’m happy about that. I was worried that it would be Nick.

JB: Thanks for stopping by and chatting.

Brenda: Anytime.

JB: Remember, you can check out Brenda’s story in Betting Brenda. Of the remaining guys, who would you pick for Kaitlyn?

The Bachelorette Is Full of Laughs

I swore that I wouldn’t watch this season of The Bachelorette, but a friend of mine said I was missing out and I had to watch. Luckily, I had the episodes I missed on DVR because my friend was right. This season of The Bachelorette has been so much fun.

Apparently, Kaitlyn wants the guys to fight for her. The first group date required the guys to box each other. Kaitlyn thought the date would be fun. She didn’t want anyone to get hurt. Then why did she have them box? Someone was bound to get hurt and, in the end, that someone was Jared who I believe ended up with a concussion.

In the last episode, the guys learned to sumo wrestle. Watching the guys wrestle was hilarious. One guy had his private parts hanging out the entire time. At one point, everyone laughed at him and still he didn’t try to adjust himself.

In the midst of all of the fighting, which has occurred even outside of the dates, we have an alleged bromance going on between JJ and Clint. To me, it looks like the producers made this bigger than it was. It seems somewhat one-sided. Clint has said that he loves JJ, but there haven’t been any clips of JJ saying how he feels about Clint. I guess we’ll find out the truth tonight, but I’m having a hard time believing that this is real.

Overall, The Bachelorette has made for some entertaining summer TV. This is the best season they’ve had in a long time.
