My list of the top five hottest guys on TV in 2017

It’s time for my annual list of the five hottest guys on TV. For 2017, I have a couple of new additions. Here are the guys who made my list:

5. José Ron (Ramón on Enamorándome de Ramón) –  José Ron is back on my list. While I don’t like all of the tattoos, I do like his expressive blue eyes. I’m going to miss seeing him when Enamorándome de Ramón ends.

4. José Pablo Minor (Gabriel on Mi Marido Tiene Familia) –  I loved José Pablo Minor as Gael on Muchacha Italiana Viene a Casarse, but I love him even more as Gabriel on Mi Marido Tiene Familia. He handles comedy well and he’s perfect with Daniela.

3. Colin O’Donoghue (Hook on Once Upon a Time) –  I admit that I haven’t kept up with this season of Once Upon a Time, but when I have time to tune in, it’s for O’Donoghue. He’s okay as a detective, but he’s still fantastic as Hook. He continues to be the only man on TV that can pull off guyliner.

2. Stephen Amell (Oliver Queen on Arrow) – For the second year in a row, Amell is in the number two spot. He’s still great to look at, but Arrow has been a disappointment this season. I miss the non-whiny version of Oliver Queen.

And the guy at number one is:

1. Chris Wood (Mon-El on Supergirl) – I’m thrilled that the writers brought Mon-El back.  The chemistry between Wood and Melissa Benoist is stellar. Despite the fact that he’s currently married, I’m convinced that Mon-El and Supergirl will end up together. I can’t wait for the second half of the season.

Now it’s your turn. Who’s on your list?

My list of the top five hottest guys on TV in 2016

It’s time for my annual list of the five hottest guys on TV. For 2016, I have some new additions from shows that premiered this year. Here are the guys who made my list:

5. Gabriel Soto (David on Vino el Amor) – I’ve watched Soto in many novelas, but Vino el Amor is my favorite. He usually brings the smolder and in Vino el Amor he’s brought it in spades. I’m amazed Irina Baeva hasn’t gone up in flames when Soto has looked at her.

4. Colin O’Donoghue (Hook on Once Upon a Time) –  O’Donoghue continues to be the only man on TV that can pull off guyliner. I haven’t kept up with Once Upon a Time this season, but when I catch an episode, I look forward to seeing O’Donoghue.

3. Chris Wood (Mon-El on Supergirl) – Wood plays the bad boy well. When he was on The Vampire Diaries, I couldn’t stand him. Supergirl is a different story. He’s sarcastic, but he has moments when his kind heart shines through. He’s even tried to be the hero. Also, the chemistry between him and Supergirl is stellar.

2. Stephen Amell (Oliver Queen on Arrow) – Yes, I’ve moved Amell to number two for the first time in four years. I still enjoy watching him play Oliver Queen, but the character has changed. He doesn’t seem to have the same edge that he used to.

And the guy at number one is:

1. Matt Lanter (Wyatt on Timeless) – He’s hot and, like Amell, can pull off a great fight scene. But let’s not forget how endearing his character is on Timeless. Lanter pulls at my hear strings every time his character talks about his wife on Timeless and when Wyatt’s protective instinct kicks in when Lucy is in danger.

Now it’s your turn. Who’s on your list?

My list of the five hottest guys on TV in 2015

It’s time for my annual list of the five hottest guys on TV. For 2015, here are the guys who made my list:

5. José Ron (Pedro on Muchacha Italiana Viene a Casarse) – I wasn’t a fan of José Ron until Muchacha Italiana Viene a Casarse. I’m not a fan of all of the tattoos, but his baby blue eyes make up for them. His eyes are so expressive, especially when he looks at Livia Brito.

4. Torrance Coombs (Sebastian on Reign)  – Even though he’s not the king, Sebastian seems to carry the weight of France on him. He is the court’s protector. His dreamy blue eyes and protective instinct make quite an attractive package.

3. Ian Somerhaulder (Damon on The Vampire Diaries) – I was concerned when Elena went into a deep sleep on The Vampire Diaries. I wasn’t sure the show would be able to carry on without her. But I was wrong. This has been one of my favorite seasons because the Damon from earlier seasons is back. I tune in every week for his sarcasm and wit. Somerhaulder plays Damon, the bad boy, well and I like it.

2. Colin O’Donoghue (Hook on Once Upon a Time) – Hook was a bad boy again for a few episodes of Once Upon a Time this season. O’Donoghue plays Hook well. He’s bad, but charming at the same time. He’s also the only man on TV that can pull off guyliner. I don’t know what the second half of this season will bring for Hook, but I’m looking forward to my weekly dose of O’Donoghue.

And the guy at number one is:

1. Stephen Amell (Oliver Queen on Arrow) – I know this is no surprise. He’s been number one for the last three years, but with good reason. No one can pull off fight scenes as well as Amell and let’s not forget the awesome shape he’s in. I know I’m not the only one who enjoys watching him do the salmon ladder.

Now it’s your turn. Who’s on your list?

My List of the Top Five Hottest Guys on TV in 2014

It’s my last blog post of the year, which means it’s time for my list of the top five hottest guys on television during 2014:

5. Robbie Amell (Ronnie Raymond on The Flash) – This may not be an obvious choice because he’s now become Firestorm and looks like a mess. However, in the flashbacks, we get to see his handsome face and he reminds me a lot of his cousin, Stephen Amell. Those Amells have good genes.

4. Torrance Coombs (Sebastian on Reign) and Ian Somerhaulder (Damon on The Vampire Diaries) – There’s a tie at number 4, which means technically there are six guys on my list this year, but I couldn’t decide between these two guys with their dreamy blue eyes and dark hair. As Sebastian, Coombs continues to protect his brother and everyone in the castle. I find that protective instinct quite attractive.

Ian Somerhaulder as Damon is this year’s bad boy. He can be impulsive and, at times, he makes you want to hate him. Despite that, I’ve always liked Damon and seeing him on the other side with Bonnie this season and how kind he was to her got him on the list this year.

3. Sebastián Rulli (Alejandro Almonte on Lo Que La Vida Me Robó) – I was sad when Lo Que La Vida Me Robó ended because it meant I couldn’t get my daily dose of Sebastián Rulli. I’m hoping he’ll be on another novela soon so I can enjoy more of his chiseled good looks.

2. Colin O’Donoghue (Hook on Once Upon a Time) – Hook used to be my favorite bad boy on television. Lately, he’s been more of a good guy, but he still has his charm, piercing blue eyes, and guyliner, which are a lethal combination. I can’t wait for more of Hook in 2015.

And the guy at number one is:

1. Stephen Amell (Oliver Queen on Arrow) – I could watch Amell do the salmon ladder on Arrow all day. He’s in some serious shape and he plays a badass well. But Amell makes the top of my list for the second year in a row because of his fight scenes. No one on television pulls off a better fight scene than Amell and I think that’s sexy.

Yes, I realize my top three are the same as my 2013 list, but, for me, they are still the hottest guys on television. Maybe my top three will change next year.

Now it’s your turn. Who’s on your list?

My List of the Top Five Hottest Guys on TV in 2013

For my last blog post of the year, I’ve decided to have a little fun. So here’s my list of the top five hottest guys on television during 2013:

5. Wilson Bethel (Wade Kinsella on Hart of Dixie) – As Wade, Bethel portrays a man who doesn’t always make the wisest decisions. But when he takes his shirt off, it’s easy to forget what he’s done wrong. He has some of the best abs on TV.

4. Torrance Coombs (Sebastian on Reign) – With dreamy blue eyes and dark hair, he is one fine-looking man. I’ve been a fan of Coombs since he played the role of Thomas Culpepper on The Tudors. On that show, he lost his head. Let’s hope the same fate doesn’t await him on Reign.

3. Sebastián Rulli (Alejandro Almonte on Lo Que La Vida Me Robó) – This guy has it all – the looks, the body, and great hair. Most times, he can be seen on Lo Que La Vida Me Robó with his shirt halfway unbuttoned. But he doesn’t really need a shirt. He’s so hot that, when he speaks, he makes everything sound sexy.

2. Colin O’Donoghue (Hook on Once Upon a Time) – Hook is my favorite bad boy on television. His charm and piercing blue eyes get me every time. I’m not usually a fan of guyliner, but O’Donoghue pulls it off well.

And the guy at number one is:

1. Stephen Amell (Oliver Queen on Arrow) – The workout scenes are some of my favorites on Arrow. I could watch those scenes over and over again. But Amell is more than just a great body and face. He plays a badass well. I don’t know what it is about a guy who knows how to pull off a fantastic fight scene, but I think it’s sexy and that’s what makes Amell my number one.

Now it’s your turn. Who’s on your list?

Arrow: The Felicity Smoak Dilemma

Since Felicity Smoak joined Oliver Queen on Arrow last season, I’ve been fascinated with the idea of them as a couple. I realize in the comic books Oliver ends up with Laurel, but on screen Stephen Amell doesn’t have the chemistry with Katie Cassidy that he has with Emily Bett Rickards. Together Amell and Rickards make a great duo.

This may be the romance writer coming out in me, but Oliver is a great romance hero. He’s troubled by his past and that of his family. Yet, he’s determined to overcome that and make amends. In Season 1, that meant killing a lot of people who had done Starling City wrong. At the end of the season, after Tommy died, Oliver decided he couldn’t be the Hood anymore because he couldn’t live with killing people.

As Felicity did during much of Season 1, she brought Oliver back from the brink. She told him that Starling City needed him and he would have to find another way. That means, while Oliver still brings the bad guys down, he no longer kills them.

Felicity and Oliver, like many romance couples, share a common goal and work together to accomplish it. Oliver wouldn’t be able to continue his mission without Felicity, and she would still be the nerdy, IT-girl without Oliver.

Which brings me to why Felicity is a great romance heroine. Felicity is smart, independent, and she doesn’t cower from Oliver. When he is upset about something or mad at her, she is able to dish it right back. She’s very good at telling Oliver when he’s wrong or too absorbed with himself.

Like any good romance couple, they have the banter down. It’s one of my favorite things about Arrow. Felicity often lets it slip exactly what she thinks of Oliver physically. What I love about those moments is that she’s saying exactly what every woman watching the show is thinking. Oliver’s face is priceless as he graciously chooses to ignore her comments. The writers also work little innuendos into their dialogue, which makes watching Oliver and Felicity on screen more interesting.

But their relationship is about more than the common goal and physical attraction. Oliver and Felicity admire each other. Oliver can only be himself with Felicity and, while he always sees himself as the playboy who has to redeem himself for his past sins, Felicity sees a good man.

To Oliver, Felicity is more than the nerdy, IT-girl. She is his center and his heart. She is the one that makes him see reason. Of all the women on the show, Oliver knows Felicity will always have his back.

I don’t know if the writers will follow the comic books and force a relationship between Oliver and Laurel, but they have quite the dilemma on their hands because I think most fans would prefer a Felicity and Oliver romance. At this point, I don’t think anyone can see Oliver with Laurel who he has nothing in common with.

Should Oliver end up with Felicity or Laurel? Or do you think now that Laurel’s sister, Sara, is on the scene they will end up together?
