Tres Veces Ana: Will the tears ever stop?

Over the years, I’ve watched a number of novelas and have come to expect the tears. But Tres Veces Ana takes the tears to a whole new level.

Ana Laura cries on just about every episode. She and Ramiro are like a broken record. They are together and happy. Then, Ana Laura allows Ana Leticia to poison her thoughts and Ana Laura breaks up with Ramiro and cries endlessly until she gets back together with him. Wash. Rinse. Repeat.

It’s obvious Ramiro and Ana Laura belong together, but it will never happen until Ana Laura gets over herself and realizes Ana Leticia is evil.

Ana Laura lost one of her legs in the car accident that killed her parents and separated Ana Lucía from her and Ana Leticia. Her missing leg bothers her more than Ramiro. He doesn’t care, but Ana Laura always believes he’s taking pity on her. I’m hoping by the end that she realizes that Ramiro’s heart is completely hers.

She also lets her fear of acceptance rule her. I agree with Ana Leticia on one thing. Ana Laura is desperate to have someone at her side. That’s why when she’s not with Ramiro, she’s with Valentín. While Valentín is out to get revenge against Ana Laura’s uncle, Mariano, Ana Laura really shouldn’t be with anyone until she gets her head straight.

Speaking of getting heads straight, Ana Leticia is crazy. I realize she lost her husband, Marcelo, but that doesn’t mean she has to make everyone else miserable. She’s only happy when Ana Laura is crying.

Although Ana Laura has been the biggest crier, Ana Leticia is giving her a run for her money. Since she found out Marcelo might be alive and that Mariano is marrying Jennifer, she’s become a regular crier. Mariano yells at her and she cries. She reminisces about Marcelo and cries.

Crying over Marcelo, I can understand, but crying over Mariano, I can’t. She has a very odd fascination with her uncle. Let’s just say, that Jennifer should watch her back.

Of the three sisters, Ana Lucía seems to be the most stable, probably because she didn’t grow up with her family. Despite being the most stable, she’s had her tearful moments. She tends to cry whether she’s happy or sad.

Santiago (aka Marcelo) makes her happy and she cries. She thinks about what will happen if Santiago ever gets his memory back and she cries.

These sisters cry so much that it makes me wonder what Angelique Boyer, who plays the triplets, is thinking every time she’s required to cry or whether she has a bowl of onions nearby to help her out.

Seriously though, I’m enjoying Tres Veces Ana. I just wish the sisters would stop crying, at least for a little while. It can’t be healthy to shed all those tears.

Are you watching Tres Veces Ana? If so, what do you think of the sisters?

Mi Corazón Es Tuyo: Isabela Gets It in the End

scribble-heartThe writers of Mi Corazón Es Tuyo got the ending right. In my last blog, I mentioned that I thought Ana was pregnant when she hadn’t reconciled with Fernando, but the writers fooled me, which I’m happy about. They finally had Fernando apologize and, soon after, he and Ana were married. Ana then got pregnant and had twin girls. I’m glad they got their happy ending, but the best part of the finale was what happened to Isabela.

Isabela became a complete nut case, trying to separate Ana and Fernando while eating junk food. Her diet sunk to new lows. She thumbed her nose at healthy eating and, in the end, it caught up with her along with all of the trouble she caused. Arquímedes, the computer genius she was working with to take down Fernando and Ana, stole all of her money and Isabela’s life went to hell. After a time lapse of a few months, Isabela is seen entering an apartment full of snacks. To say she gained weight, would be an understatement. She cries as she looks in a mirror. She hates her life and what she has become. She has no money and the only job she’s able to get is at a zoo.

So many times in novelas, the villains die. Isabela’s ending was better than death. After all of the trouble she caused, she deserves to live the rest of her life in misery.

As a side note, Mayrín Villanueva usually plays a protagonist. She did such a great job with the role of Isabela that I hope she plays a villain again.

Mi Corazón Es Tuyo: The Secret Is Out and Fernando Takes Anger to New Extremes

scribble-heartOn Mi Corazón Es Tuyo, Isabela has tried for months to separate Fernando and Ana, and she finally succeeded. She sent a note to Fernando, telling him that he should go to Chicago to find out who the real Ana is. Of course, he went and surprise there was Ana on the pole.

I blame Ana for this. She had months to tell Fernando and didn’t. She also knew that Isabela was up to something and didn’t tell Fernando before Isabela could follow through on her plan. After he saw her, Ana tried to explain everything to him, but he wouldn’t listen. In fact, he’s barely talking to her now.

I can understand why he’d be angry, but he has taken it to new extremes. Ana wrote a letter, which he returned unread. She made a video, which I think he watched after almost deleting it. Others have come forward to speak on Ana’s behalf, but he wouldn’t listen to them. There was a time lapse, which I assume represents months passing by and, at the end of it, Fernando was as cold and stubborn as ever. He certainly knows how to hold a grudge.

Now it’s time for a reality check. After months of being ignored and treated as nothing more than an employee, we’re supposed to believe that Ana still loves Fernando. Seriously. In real life, Ana would be thanking her lucky stars that she saw Fernando’s true colors before she made the biggest mistake of her life by marrying him. No self-respecting woman would continue to fight for a man who could care less. By having Ana chase after Fernando for so long, the writers have changed Ana from a strong, independent woman to a complete sap.

In novela world, Ana is commended for fighting for Fernando. What’s even more aggravating is that she will get her man, but it will only be because she’s pregnant with Fernando’s child, unless my assumptions are incorrect. How will Ana ever trust Fernando’s feelings when he’s about to do with her what he did with Isabela — marry her out of obligation? Some might say deep down Fernando loves Ana. If that’s the case, he should have stopped acting like a moron a long time ago.

I’ve been a fan of Mi Corazón Es Tuyo since it premiered, but the writers are seriously testing my patience. I assume there will be a happily ever after. I just hope the writers give me a reason to celebrate.

What are your feelings on Ana and Fernando?

Mi Corazón Es Tuyo: Will Fernando Accept Ana and Her Secret?

For months, I’ve watched Ana on Mi Corazón Es Tuyo sneak out of Fernando’s house so she could dance at Chicago. During that time, Nicolás, Diego, and Fanny have discovered her secret. How she’s managed to get away with it for so long without Fernando finding out from someone is beyond me, especially with the video of her dancing on the Internet.

SheartShadowshe’s had plenty of opportunities to let Fernando in on her secret, but she always chickens out. She loves Fernando so much that she’s afraid he won’t accept her dancing.

Is she right? Would Fernando be that shallow?

While Ana is a pole dancer, it’s not as if she’s a stripper. At one time, I would have said pole dancing would be enough to turn off Fernando, but I don’t think that’s the case anymore. Since Ana has come into his life, he’s changed a lot. He used to be ultraconservative, cold, and stern. Now he’s warm and fun, and not as conservative as he used to be.

Having headlines that read: “Nanny to Fernando Lascuráin’s Children Is a Pole Dancer,” wouldn’t be the greatest for his reputation, but I think he’s so gaga for Ana that he’d find a way to make it work. He might even be able to break her free of Don Doroteo.

The sad part is that Ana doesn’t trust in Fernando enough to share her secret and that’s what Fernando will have a hard time with, especially if he finds out from someone else, which is where I think the story is heading. It will be more dramatic for Fernando to find out from someone other than Ana and will be a real test to their relationship. Everyone knows relationships are built on trust. Will Fernando and Ana finally be able to trust each other? I hope so if we’re going to have a happy ending.

How do you think Fernando will find out about Ana?

Why I Watch Mi Corazón Es Tuyo

It’s been awhile since I’ve written about a novela so I thought I would take this opportunity to write about the one I’m currently watching — Mi Corazón Es Tuyo. The basic storyline is similar to the Sound of Music. Fernando is a widower with seven children. He needs a nanny for his kids who have chased off every nanny he’s hired. Ana walks in and proves to be a formidable opponent for his kids.

They say opposites attract and Ana and Fernando couldn’t be any more different from each other. Ana is bubbly and fun. Fernando is serious and straight-laced. They fall in love, but aren’t happy together yet. They have to deal with Isabela, Enrique, and Diego first.

Isabela only wants Fernando for his money. She seduces him one night and ends up pregnant with Fernando’s child or, at least, that’s what Fernando thinks. Out of obligation, he marries Isabela who thinks she’s won, but she hasn’t because Fernando is still in love with Ana. He eventually divorces Isabela because of his feelings for Ana.

Enrique has been sleeping with Isabela and just about every other woman on Mi Corazón Es Tuyo. Isabela is really pregnant with his child. However, Enrique doesn’t know that because she keeps telling everyone she’s having Fernando’s baby. Enrique also is determined to ruin Fernando’s life because he blames Fernando for his father’s death. So far, he has managed to force Fernando to resign from the company he was president of for years and, when I left off, he was about to kill Fernando’s father.

Diego is the one I feel bad for. He’s in love with Ana and, while Ana has tried to fall for him, she’s still in love with Fernando. She hasn’t admitted to Fernando that she loves him, but she also hasn’t told Diego that she’s in love with him. I’m waiting for her to tell Diego it’s over. I know it’s coming.

The storyline for Mi Corazón Es Tuyo is entertaining. There’s drama and comedy. I love a novela that makes me laugh. The performances by all of the actors are superb, especially Mayrín Villanueva who plays Isabela. Her delivery is spectacular. If you want a novela that’s a ton of fun to watch, I highly recommend Mi Corazón Es Tuyo.
